Cheryl received her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Duke University followed by a two year residency program from the Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy.  She has completed her certification as an Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapist and serves as a teaching assistant for the PTF Orthopaedic Residency Program.

Cheryl’s extensive manual therapy training allows her to develop comprehensive clinical approaches for patients with spinal dysfunction and chronic pain.

Her personal interests in Pilates and exercise help her to combine manual interventions with exercise to focus on an active, individualized and functional approach to patient care.

Cheryl has lectured on spine rehabilitation issues, has developed senior citizen community-based and industry-based fitness programs and has worked in a multidisciplinary diagnostic center for patients with spine related dysfunctions.

Josh focuses his clinical practice on osteopathic manual therapy and differential diagnosis and incorporates neuromuscular re-education as well as exercise prescription to form an individualized rehabilitation program for his patients. He enjoys problem solving “difficult cases”, especially when other treatment has failed.

Josh has been in practice in Baltimore since 1998 after earning his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland, School of Medicine. He is a Certified Orthopaedic Manual Therapist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT).

Josh serves as a consultant for local industry in the area of ergonomic modification and injury-prevention, and provides expert advice for local running groups, swimmers and triathletes. He serves as a teaching assistant for the PTF Orthopaedic Residency Program and has guest lectured at University of Delaware Department of Physical Therapy.

Josh enjoys working with geriatric patients and athletes of all ages, especially those who share his interest in swimming, biking, running, golfing, weight lifting, and martial arts training. He is a competitive middle, long and ultra distance runner and triathlete.

Temma Meinecke

Temma Meinecke

Temma received her Master’s in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland, School of Medicine in 1998. Temma utilizes her extensive experience in manual therapy and sports medicine to design comprehensive rehabilitation programs for her patients. She has training in vestibular rehabilitation and has helped many patients with vertigo return to functional lives.

Temma’s avid interests in running, biking, skiing and weight training bring a unique perspective to her patient treatment programs.

Dr. Lizzie Bellinger

Lizzie received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist and is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS). She has completed a 2 year residency in orthopedic manual therapy.

For her undergraduate degree, Lizzie studied Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh, bringing a strong neurological perspective that enriches her PT practice. She looks forward to incorporating Neurological and Orthopedic Rehab for high- functioning patients with neurological conditions into the SSRC area of expertise.

In her spare time, Lizzie practices, teaches, and performs flying trapeze and other circus arts around the Baltimore/DC area. She also enjoys yoga, running, cycling, and rock climbing, from which she draws experience to treat patients with a variety of interests, including gymnastics and the performing arts. She believes that everyone should be in control of their health, and works to give patients the tools and knowledge they need for wellness and prevention.

Lizzie is the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the DC Current professional Ultimate Frisbee team.

Dr. Shawn Herlong

Shawn received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Medicine.  During his time at the University of Maryland Baltimore Shawn grew to appreciate the importance of connecting with his patients to better understand their specific needs and goals.  These connections have allowed Shawn to treat patients as a whole and to tailor treatments to have a greater impact on each patient’s personal goals.  Shawn’s passion for physical therapy grew from his love of sports and fascination of the human body’s ability to perform amazing feats.  He is originally from Southern Maryland where he played football and baseball in high school.  Shawn completed his undergraduate studies at Towson University where he played club baseball.  Shawn likes to spend his time in the outdoors where he enjoys golfing, hiking, camping, fishing, and any competitive sports.

Alex received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Medicine. Alex is a Certified Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapist and has completed a 3 year residency in orthopedic manual therapy.

Alex believes that one cannot properly treat a dysfunction without treating the individual as a whole, therefore, he tailors each treatment program to the individual. He takes pride in making the therapy process a good experience for every patient.

Alex is a Baltimore native who attended Loyola Blakefield High School and completed his undergraduate work at Virginia Tech. For enjoyment, Alex likes anything to do with the water, fishing, hiking, golfing and most outdoor activities.

JC returned to SSRC after having worked a few years in the DC area. He received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Medicine. JC is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapist and is currently involved in a Fellowship Program with the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists.

JC’s passion for problem solving difficult cases demonstrates his dedication to providing outstanding physical therapy care to his patients. JC lives in Baltimore and enjoys pretty much all outdoor activities such as cycling, hiking, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, spelunking and skydiving. (don’t tell him we added the last two!)  JC’s gentle demeanor serves him well when working with young athletes and geriatric patients alike.

Nancy received her AA degree as a physical therapist assistant from the Community College of Baltimore in 1993. She has worked in the physical therapy field since 1981 where she started as a volunteer in the physical therapy department at Franklin Square Hospital. Her previous clinical experience includes staff positions at Franklin Square and Fallston Hospitals.

Nancy’s outside interests include playing softball, taking long walks, and attending occasional Raven games, along with her normal “mom” duties.

Janet Libertini

Janet Libertini

Janet is a master at multi-tasking. She wears many hats at SSRC as she oversees all aspects of office function. She has over 30 years of experience dealing with insurance companies, and is well versed in insurance company reimbursement, billing. and the issues of all aspects of an office. Janet helps many patients understand the complexities of their health insurance benefits. She has a background in accounting, medical coding and medical terminology. Janet started her career working in a one person office for an Internist, but soon worked her way into medical assisting and then supervision. Janet has worked in small and large office settings and loves the family environment of SSRC.

Janet’s interests include spending time with her children and grandaughters, walking her dog, crocheting and  playing cards with her husband and friends.

Donna Higgins

Donna Higgins

Donna has been with us since 2005 and is one of the happy faces you’ll see when you arrive for an appointment at our Timonium office. She takes charge of the front desk and makes sure that everything runs smoothly. We depend on Donna to keep order at the front desk area.

Before joining us, Donna was the Surgical Posting Coordinator for an ENT Practice.

Laura Holste-Gross

Laura joined our SSRC family in 2014. She is another happy face you’ll see in our Timonium location. Laura has extensive patient care coordination experience having worked for physicians in the Baltimore area.

Laura LOVES to chat with insurance companies when obtaining treatment authorizations. Her soothing voice and gentle phone manner helps to make the appointment scheduling process easy.

Michele Belzner

Michele Belzner

Michele has worked in the medical billing field for 12 years. She loves to go head to head with insurance companies when benefits are not paid correctly.

Michele was previously with a large billing company which serviced the Physical Therapy community.
